Món Sketcher 06: Entrevista a Janet Hall
L'encantadora Janet és un dels membres fundadors dels USk Terres de l'Ebre, o sigue que està amb natros des del primer dia. Britànica de naixement és la més internacional del grup i mos ajuda generosament amb tots los dubtes que tenim amb l'anglès, que no són pocs.
Mos respon les preguntes de l'entrevista que, esta vegada, és bilingüe:
1.- Would you tell us who you are, your age, where do you live, and what hobbies do you have? Mos pots fer una breu descripció de qui ets, la teva edat, on vius i quines són les teves aficions?

2.- When did you start to draw? Des de quan dibuixes?
From being a child, but more seriously about 40 years. Des de que era una xiqueta però més seriosament a partir dels 40 anys.
3.- Which are your motivations, what do you feel, and what are your aims when you draw? Què et motiva, què sents i què pretens quan dibuixes?
Motivation - to put on paper a moment in time. Feeling - to draw from the heart. Aims - to capture the essence of what is in front of me. Motivació: reflectir al paper un moment en lo temps. Sentiment: dibuixar des del cor. Objectius: capturar l'essència del que tinc al davant.
4.- What are your favourite materials or which do you use the most? Quins materials fas servir o t'agraden més?
My favourite materials are pen/ink with watercolour, and a passion for pastels. Los meus materials preferits són ploma/tinta amb aquarel·la i tinc passió pels pastels.
5.- How did you know about our sketching group? Cóm vas conèixer lo nostre grup de dibuix?
I was priviledged to help the group started. Vaig tenir lo privilegi d'ajudar a formar el grup.
6.- What's your favourite thing about drawing in group and in plain air? Què és lo que més t'agrada de dibuixar en grup i a l'aire lliure?
Being an artist can be a lonely time, but being with a group - even though we don't speak much - it is not so lonely. I love drawing and painting in plain air as there is a clarity and crispness to the finished painting that cannot be obtained from a photo. I do not go out on my own as often as I would like because it can be very lonely especially when painting landscapes which I love. Ser un artista pot ser solitari però estar en un grup, encara que no parléssim massa, no ho és tant. M'encanta dibuixar i pintar a l'aire lliure perquè hi ha una claredat i una nitidesa a la pintura acabada que no es pot aconseguir d'una foto. No surto sola tan sovint com voldria perquè pot ser molt solitari, especialment quan pinto paisatges, que m'encanta.
7.- What do you think about our meetups schedule and other gatherings we organize? Què et sembla la nostra programació de meetups mensuals i la resta de trobades que organitzem?
I think the monthly meetings are wonderful and there have been some very interesting places we have visited. I like the idea of the other gatherings but sometimes there are a little too many for me to keep up with. Crec que les trobades mensuals són fantàstiques i hem visitat alguns llocs molt interessants. M'agrada la idea de les atres trobades però de vegades n'hi ha una mica massa per a que en pugui seguir lo ritme.
8.- What do you think about our monthly challenge? Què et sembla lo nostre repte mensual?
I think this is good - and especially during these difficult times it has given another focus when the monthly meetups have been impossible. But I do love the 'plain air painting'!. Crec que és bo i, especialment durant estos temps difícils, mos ha donat un atre enfocament mentre les trobades mensuals han estat impossibles. Però m'encanta pintar a l'aire lliure!
9.- Do you have an Instagram account where we can follow your art works? Tens compte a Instagram on pugem seguir los teus treballs artístics?
Yes, I have three: @janetha907 (which contains my sketches) - @lacalaart (scenes from La Cala which is in development and hope to expand in autumn) - @yorkshireinpastels (scenes from the area where I was born in Yorkshire, England).
